Diet Counters Bad Gene

This podcast reviews a research study in which the causes of heart disease were studied. It was determined that although one of the causes of heart disease is a gene, the diet of the person determined whether or not the gene was turned on. Comment upon the research of the study. Was their study valid, why? What could be done to make the research better?

  1. The research is very interesting because the data collected could be used as proof to show that a healthy diet can help fight a high risk of heart attack. This experiment seems valid but could also be improved. The article states that data was collected from individuals who had a healthy diet and were from the same cultural region. In order to make the data more valid they should have collected data from individuals on the exact same dietary meal plan and individuals of the same ethnicity.

it was an intersting artical. for the fact scientist were able to do an experament do determine was is the cause of heart diseases. maybe if people learn the correct diet to stop heart attacks the death rate will go down. they should of had a specific amount of people from each ethnicity instead of more random. they also didnt have a time period saying how long the person was on the diet.
