I ran across an interesting study in which researchers looked at the self-control of people as children and then measured that against their habits and activities as 32 year olds.
How children behave and more importantly how they control themselves may be important than we think as it can greatly impact their future. Children who were maturely self controlled were found to be more "successful" (better careers, longer lives, better lifestyle choices) than the children who could not control themself. This lead me to think, as much as the children are empashized, I believe the parents should also be held responsible for their child's self control (ex: temper tantrums). I believe it is a combination of both a self controlled child AND enforcing parents that lead to a child having a successful future.
